Under The Microscope

These lovely "alien" drawings are from an scientific artist by the name of Ernst Haeckel. (Feb. 1834 to Aug.  1919.) They are actually microscopic things like spores, plankton, protozoa and pollen.

I'm a big fan of Ernst Haeckel, ever since I saw the jellyfish exhibition at the Monteray Bay Aquarium. I have 2 of his jellyfish prints hanging in my bedroom at this minute.

I love these! I am always amazed when I see the fibonnachi patterns played out, on pine cones, spores and pollens, or sea shells. Order in the Universe.
