12 Days Of Tim (Day 12)

Click on the picture to see a larger view.
Well here is the final "Tim" card and it is actually a tag from last year. I think of all of them it is my favorite simply because of the images in the film strip. I used a couple that Tim provided on his blog but I was able to find quite a few of my own. (Otherwise I wouldn't be known as the queen of images.) I obviously used a quite different format then what Tim did but I like it. Click here if you want see the original tag by Tim and read about his techniques.

Below is the sampler with all the images I found plus a few of Tim's.

Here are some more cute little snowmen. Tomorrow will be a double dose of Santa's and then I promise I am done with posting Christmas images. (At least until the end of the year.)

12 Days Of Tim (Day 11)

This is another card that doesn't use a technique from Tim. It only uses one of his beautiful stamps. I simply stamped the image in black ink and colored it with colored pencils. The gold border is some german scrap and then I matted it in red and mounted it in a corner punched frame. The corner punches are made by EK Success. (Yes there are 2 corner punches there.) They are made to fit together and can be used in tandem to create the beautiful scroll look you see. They are called "Wrought Iron" (inner punch) and "Iron Eagle" (outer punch) and can be seen here.

Here are some more very cool retro Christmas images. The last one I did by taking the photos of a vintage ornament box and combining them to make a printable box pattern. A very cool thing to make in miniature and use in the Tim Holtz Configurations.

12 Days Of Tim (Day 10)

Day 10 means that Christmas is almost here. (Where has the year gone?) Anyways this card uses a couple of techniques from a tag that I already have shown but in a different design altogether. I used the tissue tape banner idea again from the reindeer tag and then the technique of painting and sanding grungeboard. I do have one piece of grungeboard with the swirl design already embossed in it so I cut a frame with my Sizzix and used it around this stamped image. If you want to see the original tag and read about the techniques that Tim shows click here.

12 Days Of Tim (Day 9)

Here is another card that doesn't use any of Tim techniques from his tags. I used a few of his embossing folders to create the texture on the stripes I used to make the tree. This is a really easy card to make and it's good for using up little scraps. You just cut strips of paper and glue them to another piece of card stock then trim into a triangle shape and add a trunk. (Instant Christmas Tree!) I simply rubbed gold Rub-N-Buff on the embossed paper before I glued the strips together to give a little bling.

12 Days Of Tim (Day 8)

Click on the picture to see a larger view.
Day 8 already....my how time flies! This is pretty close to what Tim did for his tag but of course there are some differences. First of all I didn't have the snowman die so I did what I am/was known for and went with a punchart snowman. (I did use his tree die for the snowman's arms.) I didn't stamp a sentiment on the snowman either since I didn't really have one that fit. I also used snowflake brads to hold the packaging plastic down because I thought it fit well with the theme. Click here if you want to see Tim's original tag and read about the techniques.
