These are a bunch of envelopes for a swap I am in on my Yahoo group. The lady who is running it (Susan Guzy) has a plethora of envelopes so she decided to share the wealth and have a "decorated envelope" swap. I have to say that at first I was not all "hyped up" about doing the swap like I usually am, but once I got rolling I found I didn't want to stop. The only drawback is that now I want to decorate any envelope that leaves the house and I just don't have the time to do it. Come December when I make all of my Christmas cards it will be very hard not to want to decorate the envelopes too.

The Gibson Girl was the personification of a feminine ideal as portrayed in the illustrated stories created by Charles Dana Gibson. His first model was probably his wife but this woman became as the most famous Gibson girl. (Camille Clifford.)

I Dream In Colors

Right hand page.

Jen requested that every artist make an ID tag with a picture of themselves on it. (I have always wanted to have wings to fly.)

This is another journal from the "I Dream In Colors" group. (This one is for Jennifer Rogers-Daniels.) Her colors are robins egg blue, lavender and chocolate. The background is done on watercolor paper using the Tim Holtz method of mixing your own glimmer mists. I then used sequin waste to stencil through with some white paint and aqua glimmer mists to make some random spots of dots. (The doily in the center of the 2 pages had also been sprayed with the various colors of mists.) Then I went about stamping and heat embossing various images about the pages. The large saying is something that is always happening to me and the other one around the compass stamp is something I cut out of a poetry book. The rest is adhesive backed rhinestones, some old hand tatted lace, some newer chocolate lace, paper flowers, beading around the compass, and lots of fiber and ribbon dangling from the flowers. (The aqua outer edge is some Prima packaging that I liked and kept to use in something.)

What's Black & White & Red All Over?

Click on the picture to see a larger view.

These are some more pages for one of the "color" journals that I am working on with a group of fabulous ladies. (I Dream In Colors circle journal.) These are for Sarah Walker and her colors are black, white and red. They suggested to me that the work needed to bold and graphic even though I worked in a collage style. I started by using layers of paint through various stencils and also using 2 sizes of bubble wrap as a stamp. I then decoupaged on some napkins, newspaper, die cut mulberry paper and lace. (It doesn't show in the photo but the black lace is then covered with very fine black glitter.) The saying is from "Alice In Wonderland" and I came across it when I was collecting images for an "Alice" swap I am in.

Here are some pretty parasols of Spring to use for your art. Notice that 2 of them are the same women in the same outfit but they have been hand colored differently.
